Food Waste to Zero Pilot Program

Working together toward a more sustainable future

The Importance of Reducing Wasted Food

An estimated 2 milllion people in Los Angeles live with food insecurity, meaning 1 in 5 Angelenos may not know where their next meal is coming from.

  • 1/3 of all food grown is never eaten, costing the industry $1 trillion a year in wasted costs
  • Food in the landfill creates greenhouse gases, a major threat to climate change.
